Trojan asteroids
Two families of asteroids that share the orbit of Jupiter, clustered around the Lagrangian points 60° either side of the planet. Over 200 are known, the majority being in the preceding group. They do not remain stationary close to the Lagrangian points but oscillate around them over an arc between about 45° and 80° from Jupiter, taking 150-200 years to complete a cycle. The first to be discovered was Achilles, and it was decided to use the names of warriors in the Trojan wars for members of the group identified subsequently.
